Although large falls do not damage Smurfs, improper contact with enemies does. Some splinters can only be obtained by jumping over an enemy, using the sprint jump or using the scenery (ropes or vines). The emphasis is more on exploring the levels than killing the enemies (no score is given for them), so they can be avoided on most occasions, but if the need arises, they can be dealt with by kicking or Mario-style jumping over them. This title, a classic platformer, allows the player to choose between Inquisitive Smurf and Smurfette (there is no difference between the characters) and collect the 10 fragments scattered around the playing field. Restless Smurf takes Smurfette to Papa Smurf's laboratory to see the Magic Crystal that allows them to travel anywhere in the world, but suddenly Smurfette breaks it, and off they go! Now they must face the challenges of all continents to recover all the Crystal fragments and return home. With excellent animations, fun cutscenes, and imaginative obstacles and enemies, The Smurfs is a must have for all Smurfs fans and a lot of fun for platform lovers.Night falls in Smurfette Village. I won't spoil any surprises here, but packs enough adrenaline rush to keep you playing. In the later levels, however, the obstacles are much more dangerous and life-treatening. The obstacles he must avoid are limited only to water thrown from houses and natural obstacles. In the first scene, for example, you control a happy Smurf who is just walking contentedly in his own village in a peaceful day. The best thing about The Smurfs is that each level is well integrated into the plot. The plot is the same cutesy material all Smurfs fans are familiar with: as Brainy Smurf (or was it Baker Smurf? I can never tell which), you must help your three-apple-tall village from certain destruction by evil guy Gargamel and his annoying cat Azreal. The game succeeds at capturing the bumbling charm and innocence that the Smurfs are known for, with smooth VGA graphics and a lot of surprises. The Smurfs is a fun platform game based on a wildly popular 80s cartoon (which so popular it even spawned a spinoff called the Snorks - I'm not making this up).
